Teachers

Harijiwan

Harijiwan has been teaching Kundalini yoga since 1975. For a number of years he served his teacher, Yogi Bhajan, directly, and traveled the world extensively with him. Harijiwan possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of yoga and meditation. His classes are funny, profound and poetic and offer students the opportunity to receive rarified instruction and enjoy vast change.

Tej Kaur

Tej has been a student of Yogi Bhajan for over 30 years. She is the Custodian of the Archives of the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan, and a recognized authority on the teachings. She has been involved in numerous Yogi Bhajan publications as transcriber, editor, and compiler including the Woman’s Camp Series, “72 Stories of God, Good and Goods,” and “The Master’s Touch.” She holds a Masters Degree in Counseling and for many years, worked on Yogi Bhajan’s correspondence during which she received extensive training from him on yogic counseling. Her classes are occasions to enjoy deep meditative experiences and to learn vast amounts of yogic knowledge

Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa

Gurmukh is the co-founder and director of Golden Bridge Nite Moon, Los Angeles’ premier center for the study and practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. Since being baptized 35 years ago with the Sikh spiritual name meaning “One who helps people across the world ocean,” Gurmukh has dedicated her life to fulfilling her namesake. For nearly three decades, students in Los Angeles and from around the world have sought out her classes in Kundalini Yoga, meditation, and pre-and post-natal care. She has been married for 22 years to Gurushabd and has a 22 year old daughter who also lives in Los Angeles.

Gurushabd

Gurushabd, co-director of Golden Bridge, teaches classes that are musical, challenging and provocative. He encourages students to move beyond old comfort zones, and into deeper, and more meditative realms of being. Married for 22 years to Gurmukh, they reside in Los Angeles with their many dogs.

Karuna
Caroline Ashley, also known as Karuna, started her life’s work in Paris as a model and was then contracted by Ford Models in New York. She continued her modeling career for over eight years in New York City. While in New York, she started her Hatha yoga training program and 22 years later she is now teaching and practicing her daily sadhana in order to further her own personal insight into the gifts of Kundalini Yoga and meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan, her master teacher. She has been chosen by the Kundalini Research Institute to be an intern under Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and will work her way up to becoming a teacher’s trainer. She’s hosting the first ever Kundalini Yoga Teacher’s Training in Boulder, Colorado.

Testimonial

Sat Nam Karuna,

Karma brought me to you in Boulder all the way from Switzerland. We may never know exactly why and I surrender to whatever the reason may be in the end. What I do know is this…

I am a better individual for having come to learn this practice with you at Star House. But the path is long and some times steep. You showed me that all is possible if one simply keeps going. If it’s not possible to hold the pose the entire time, it’s Ok. Just get back up and give it another shot. I learned that the practice is not about being perfect, it’s about being present.

What I come away with from TT in Boulder is the feeling of confidence that I can build my own personal practice based on my needs and my path in this lifetime. From this place, I can offer students space in which they can explore themselves and their path.

Love and many, many blessings,
V’rasana
